I think I’m back…

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, I kind of got side tracked with a lot of other life events happening and had to take a time out to re-evaluate all of my “projects”.

After much thinking I’m back in action here at Craft Spotter but with a few changes. My goal is to keep you updated on all of the best crafts from around the web, and throw in a few of my own projects when time allows. Of course I have a bunch of half finished items in my office/craft room right now so I’ll be putting together photos, posts, etc for those soon.

I apologize for anyone that’s missed my posts, and can only hope you can stick around to see what’s next. The site is going to be having a design makeover, so bear with me as things change.

Mini Car Playmat – Day 9

This little car playmat is so adorable! It would probably be a good addition to our car toys to make the ride a little more fun. You can find the tutorial on how to make it over at Positively Splendid.

Noel Holiday Decor Blocks – Day 8

These blocks are cute and pretty simple to create for yourself.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2×4 piece of wood
  • Scrapbook paper – pattern of your choice, red, and green
  • saw or someway to cut the wood
  • Acrylic paint – black
  • Vinyl – black
  • Cricut
  • Modge Podge

Here’s what you’ll need to do to get the job done:
1. Cut the 2×4 into 4 pieces – 1 3.5 inch piece, 1 4.5 inch piece, and 2 5.5 inch pieces

2. Once you have the 2×4 cut into your 4 pieces paint them all black

3. While the paint is drying cut your scrapbook paper to fit you blocks with a small edge around each side

Red paper – 3in x 4.25in
Green paper – 3in x 5.25in
Pattern paper – 3in x 5.25in & 3in x 3.25in

4. Once the paint is dry use the modge podge to adhere the pieces of paper to the corresponding blocks.

5. While the paint is drying cut black vinyl into the word Noel. I made my letters about 3 inches height and proportionality wide.
6. Once the paper is dry put the vinyl lettering on the blocks and then do a final seal with modge podge.

Once it’s all dry you are ready to put them on your mantle or anywhere else you want.

T-shirt Scarf – Day 7

This scarf is sooooo easy to make, my mom about had a heart attack when I had it done in about 5 minutes. I went through it so fast I forgot to take a few pictures, so I’ll try to explain the best I can… it really is super simple.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • t-shirt (I bought a large men’s shirt, if you want a longer scarf get a wider shirt)
  • Scissors

Here’s how to do it:
1. Start by cutting the bottom hem of your shirt.
2. Cut strips up to the arm pits of the shirt. You can make them uniform or different sizes, it’s your preference.
3. Take all the strips in the hand and stretch them. Think of it like a resistance band, stretch them as far as you can. The more they are stretched the longer the scarf.
4. Then put it around your neck!

Some people secure the pieces together with another piece of fabric, but I like them to be separated. Then I can mix and match different colors when I feel like it. And I can wear as many or as few as I want.

Chalkboard Wine Glasses – Day 6

These glasses are so cute, and much easier then trying to remember which wine charm is yours. I always forget… did I have the cheese or the martini glass charm? The red beads or the blue beads? And once you have 10 glasses of wine how in the world are you supposed to remember which [...]
